A seminar in human and social sciences (or a laboratory in science and engineering) is a core of the Japanese campus life. Organized in a seminar, students prepare a graduation thesis with a supervisor for the last two years. They gather once a week, at 14:45-18:00 on every Wednesdays at Takai’s seminar, to discuss on the methods and advancements of thesis. This is also an intimate student’s community where various extracurricular activities, such as seasonal parties and a study trip, are organized. At our School of Economics and Business, all sophomores take a series of entrance examinations in fall to be admitted by one of 50 seminars.
International students are welcome. Not only a graduate student but also an undergraduate can be personally guided by a supervisor. You should directly address to the supervisor of your preference.
